ABCmouse for Schools
REDESIGNING the way for students to access their assigned lessons!
One of my projects involved creating a seamless experience for students aged between 4 to 6 using ABCmouse. In this project, the goal was to provide an intuitive platform for teachers to assign lessons and for students to easily access and complete those lessons from home. By leveraging free teacher accounts, educators could assign activities on the site as lessons, allowing students to create their limited accounts. I focused on designing a user-friendly interface where students can effortlessly discover the latest assigned lessons, encouraging them to revisit activities and providing a sense of accomplishment upon completing each series of activities. Together, we created an engaging learning environment for young learners.
The newly designed My Lesson launched in China first, then Japan, Taiwan, Costa Rica and at last United States. Over 1 million student visits in 2017-18 school year!

After extensively testing the product in the field, I identified an opportunity to enhance the app's performance and user experience. To achieve this, I introduced a toggle view feature that effectively separated completed lessons from new ones. By implementing this functionality, users could easily differentiate between completed lessons and those yet to be explored, streamlining their learning journey. This optimization not only improved the app's performance but also contributed to a more intuitive and efficient user interface.
THANK YOU!
